Video and video applications are here to stay within the social media realm. In fact, video will become the #1 social
media tool in the near future. Having said that, Businesses have taken to apps like Instagram and Vine and YouTube to promote their brand. Small Business may think that to produce videos for channels like YouTube are cost prohibitive and that you need to hire expensive production companies to get them made. While it is true that a professional looking video will catch more viewers and make your brand look sharper, these little mini productions can be made with YouTube's free editing tools and shot with your smart phone or tablet if nothing else. Simply shoot, upload via your connector cables and there you go. As for some tips in keeping your little production fresh, keep these in mind. 1. Do plan on spending at least a few hundred bucks on props or local talent. Don't let your ego get in the way that you have to stick your face on camera. You may be the owner but perhaps somebody else can deliver your message better than you. 2. Make your videos educational and entertaining. The average viewer attention span these days is 3 seconds. If you have not caught their eye in that short amount of time, it's over unless they are specifically searching for you, your topic, or brand. 3. No, your video will not go "viral" and you can't make it go "viral." Viral videos, considering the millions that are out there are rare and those that do go viral are due to the fact that they had something unique, news breaking, or was just plain cute. Don't expect yours to do the same. If it does, be thankful but don't go looking for ways to make it so. On your small business budget you are there to capture your local market. If you want help with a viral video, you better have really deep pockets. Have quality and keep it interesting and you never know. 4. Promote your YouTube video on you other social media sites. (You better have some and if you don't check out my other blogs to learn how) create links to your main web page or embed your videos on your Facebook or other sites you have. Simply right-click the YouTube video and you will see how to simply do that. As for creating a YouTube channel, you now need a Google Account and that is easy to set up. Good luck and remember, you don't need to be Fortune 500 company or hire a big advertising agency to make a good marketing video for your business or brand. Good luck! Comments are closed.
